Caution: This is going to be a picture heavy post about a family holiday. Not interested? Stay tuned for future posts!
Our trip to Sugarloaf, Maine on a ski trip was lovely. Unfortunately, I was not able to ski but conditions were ideal for DH and he and his best friend skied as much as possible. Iain and I tried our best to have a holiday too. We decided that an indoor pool (that someone else takes care of…) would be ideal and took advantage of the spa pool in our building for four of the five mornings we stayed on the hill. Iain really enjoyed it but, as the pool was a little cooler than he is used to and, after making the mistake of dangling his toes in the hot tub after the pool on day one, all he really wanted to do the other three days was hit the hot tub.
On the morning that he did not go skiing, Iain went sledding with Daddy! DH got some really cute video footage. I’m just going to show you the third of the videos DH took – I don’t want to bore you with ‘someone else’s holiday videos’ but, as you can see, Iain really enjoys winter sports!
The whole trip was a bit of an adventure for Iain. From playing in the condo,
to swimming, playing with S and ML, playing in the snow, his first afternoon at a daycare (gulp! I did it and he enjoyed it so much that I signed him up for our last two afternoons!),
I think the week turned out to be a great holiday for him. It was the first time in a long time that getting him to sleep at his usual bedtime was not much of an issue. He was pooped!
If you are ever in the area and need accommodation, we highly recommend it. Great rooms, great rates, a lovely breakfast at the restaurant (also a restored and stately home) next door and, best of all, they love children!
We also figured out a new use for knitted items on our rather long drive home. I forgot to pack a plastic container for Iain to eat snacks from. Necessity being the mother of invention…
Worked a charm!
On a separate note, it’s really interesting some of the comments you receive when you use ‘Ghost Blog’ as a post title…

Okay. So. You say interesting things are happening but you're not ready to share, and then you go on a ski trip, but you can't ski. There's only one explanation I can think of. Here's hoping I'm right!
I'm thinking what Yarnhog is thinking ... or at least I think that's what she's thinking. Stay tuned! LOL
It looks like you had a fabulous trip! :)
I'm pretty sure we're all thinking what Yarnhog is thinking - and patiently waiting for future revelations. I'm keeping my knitting needles crossed in the meantime.
Totally unrelated, but I think I have hubby's hat. MEC? - And absolutely the most amazing hat in the world (that isn't knit - of course). You know of every gorgeous thing in those pictures, I'm gonna notice the lime green thing! : )
Iain is getting so big! his looks are changing! sounds like you all had fun!
I guess I'm the only one that didn't think what everyone else is thinking. hmmmm lol - Looks like a great holiday, though, what a perfect little person sled thing, too, cool.
